2023 Steigen Victorian Country Athletics Championships
The 2023 Steigen Victorian Country Athletics Championship makes its way to Geelong over the Australia Day long weekend and will be held Thursday 26th Jan, Friday 27th Jan and Saturday 28th Jan 2023.
There are events offered in all age groups from U14 up to 60+, as well as club and individual awards presented across the three-day competition.

To affirm their commitment to our sport, they have come on board this year as the naming rights sponsor for the Victorian Country Athletics Championships to be conducted at Landy Field.
The City of Greater Geelong has supported the Geelong athletics community for many years with the ongoing improvements to our traditional athletics home, Landy Field.
It has been specifically supportive of the 2023 Steigen Victorian Country Athletics Championships in the preparation of the venue as well as financially.
Since 1983, Geelong Athletics has supported the Geelong running fraternity with the Twilight Trot series of runs during daylight savings. The Running Company fulfils a vital role for the Geelong running community by sponsoring and managing these events as well as providing a valued athletic apparel service to runners of all abilities.

Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 16th January, 2023 – No late or on the day entries will be accepted.
If you have issues entering the event please contact Athletics Victoria PRIOR to the closing date at sportsdelivery@athsvic.org.au or the Competitions Department on 03 7032 8400 and leave a message explaining the issues you are experiencing.
Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries, and emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.
For these Championships, both Metro and interstate athletes are welcome to enter and compete but will do so as invitational athletes.
Program for the Championships
Note: the featured timetable is a ‘DRAFT’ and for reference only. Due to the complexity of scheduling track and field events, once entries close a revised ‘PROVISIONAL TIMETABLE’ will be published which will provide an up to date schedule of events and timings. The ‘Provisional Timetable’ should be used over and above the ‘Draft’ version. Athletics Victoria will notify all entrants via email and social media of changes to the timetable before the event commences. It is the responsibility of athletes, parents and coaches to check the timetable online 24 hours before competition, if you are unsure of the most up to date timetable, please contact Athletics Victoria on 03 7032 8400.
Championship Handbook
For the first time, the Championship Handbook has gone virtual. This handbook contains information about the 3 day event including venue facilities and access, program timetables and entries, history of the championships and previous award winners. QR codes to access this handbook will be located around the venue during the Championships.
